Coaching and Training

Good organizational public relations is the responsibility of every employee. You can hire someone to write the most fantastic press releases and brochures, but they will be of little use if key messages are not reinforced during a media interviews or if customer service is not provided as indicated in your brochure.

To help organizations empower their front line staff, develop good public relations writing skills, or be effective during media interviews, I offer one-on-one coaching and group training sessions.  These can be conducted in-person, via video conference, or over the telephone.  These sessions can also be customized to meet the specific needs of your organization.

Public Relations Writing:  Good writing skills are at the core of an organization’s communication efforts.  Each time you or your staff send an email, write a direct mail letter, populate the website, or any of the myriad ways an organization communicates with its audiences on a daily basis, you are being judged and evaluated. This training will assist you or your staff in developing the public relations writing skills invaluable to communicating the messages and image you intend to project.

Frontline Public Relations: It is essential that all communication accurately reflect the vision, mission and goals of the organization.  Good public relations begins with customer (client, patron, guest) service and your front-line staff.  Training sessions focus on aligning the goals of the organization with the communication habits of your frontline staff.

Media Training: You’ve scored a TV interview! Now what? Whether for print, online or TV, media interviews are intimidating.  The focus is on you, and how well you can articulate the message you’re trying to get across.  The last thing you want is to stumble over your words, go off on a tangent, or project a tone or image that is not in line with organizational goals. Training here consists of preparing the material, developing messages, and communicating in a way that puts your organization’s best foot forward.
